Dioscorea quaternata - North American native perennial tuberous vining plant. The roots are used in Native North American traditional medicine. Stems can grow up to 5 metres long in ideal conditions. Pretty heart shaped green leaves. Plants can either be allowed to ramble over the ground or allowed to grow up a trellis or trees. Does best with shade, I have mine growing in dappled shade and they are growing well through our hot summers. Winter dormant.
