Veronica officinalis - Perennial, hardy groundcover. 10-30 cms height, 50 cms width. Full sun to part shade. Delicate spikes of blue flowers in the spring and summer. Medicinal herb. Leaves dried and made into a tea. Once used as a tea substitute in France. Frost hardy. Grows in most soil types, but prefers a moisture retentive well drained soil. Makes a good ground cover under trees. Leaves eaten by all farm animals and is a good tonic for them. Very medicinal for animals. The leaves impart a good flavour to goats and cows milk.
