Thymus nummularis - Hardy perennial. 20 cms height, 1 metre width. Prefers full sun. Pink flowers in spring and summer, when in flower the flowers cover the whole plant. Flowers attract bees and butterflies.  Excellent culinary herb. Adds great flavour in recipes calling for thyme.  A good companion plant to most plants as it improves the flavour of other plants grown around it, especially cabbage, onions, and salad burnet. Also good companion plant to roses. Prefers a well drained soil in an open sunny position. Lovely aromatic plant, smelling of oregano and thyme. Makes an excellent ground cover in a warm sunny position. Doesn't like excessive wet, especially in the winter.  Can withstand a wide variety of temperatures from very cold to excessive heat.
