Thymus vulgaris - Perennial culinary and medicinal herb. The preferred thyme for French dishes, with a good strong flavour. Pretty pink flowers, loved by bees. A long history of folk medicinal use. Attractive grey green foliage, looks great growing in the kitchen garden. Requires a well drained soil. Grows well in a sunny position, where the sunshine improves the flavour of the leaves.
