Fragaria vesca ‘Yellow Wonder’ - Hardy long lived perennial fruiting plant. Full sun to part shade. 15-25 cms height, 25-35 cms width. A yellow fruiting form of the wild strawberry. The fruit is sweet and fragrant. Grows in most soil types, but prefers a rich, moist, well drained soil. Clump forming growth habit. This strawberry doesn’t make runners. White flowers, followed by the yellow fruits, in the spring, summer and autumn. The fruiting period can last all year in areas with mild winters. Water regularly during the growing season. May become dormant, or growth will slow in the winter, mulch well in cold winter areas. An excellent and productive ground cover plant, that also grows well in pots. One of the benefits of yellow fruit is that the birds are less likely to see the yellow fruit.
