Fragaria x ananassa - An unusual white fruiting strawberry, with a pineapple like taste. Produces fruit in spring and summer. Not as high yielding as some other varieties, but delicious and worth growing as a seasonal delicacy. Pineberry does need to be pollinated by another strawberry variety. I have mine growing with several other strawberry varieties around it and mine are producing fruit. Grows well in compost enriched soil in both the edible garden and in pots.
