Cichorium spinosum - A wild harvested perennial edible plant from the Mediterranean region, especially enjoyed in Crete. The tender glossy green leaves are eaten raw or cooked. Stamnagathi is less bitter than Common Chichory, but with the same nutritional value. Grows well in most well drained soils, full sun to part shade.
