Salvia pratensis - Herbaceous perennial. Full sun to part shade.. 1-1.5 metres height. Aromatic plant. Blue purple flowers from summer to autumn. Flowers attractive to bees and butterflies. Medicinal plant for farm animals. Prefers a rich, moist, well drained soil. Cold hardy plant, can withstand temperatures to -25 degrees. Growth forms an upright clump. Used as a flavouring for beers and wine. Doesn’t like excessive winter wet.
