Salvia madrensis - Herbaceous perennial. 1.5 to 2 metres height, 1.5 metres width. Full sun to part shade, does best with morning sun and afternoon shade. Yellow flowers,, which is an unusual colour for a salvia. Flowers attractive to bees and butterflies, and make a good early winter nectar source for bees. Extra large heart shaped leaves. Flowers autumn and into the start of winter, in warmer areas it will flower into spring. Clump forming growth. Will die back in colder areas, but will regrow in the spring. Grow in well drained moist soil. I mulch mine well, which really helps them in the hot weather. Water well in hot weather.
