Romulea bulbocodium - A really beautiful perennial bulb that produces lovely violet flowers, with a yellow throat, in winter. Rarely the flowers can be pure white. The corms and fruits are wild harvested and eaten raw, in various regions throughout the Mediterranean, including Crete and Spain. Really cold hardy.
