Oryza sativa - The very rare plant that produces black / dark purple rice grains. Very tasty and full of health benefits. Grows equally well in shallow water and the standard vegetable garden. Easy to grow and multiplies well. Looks beautiful when in seed. Used in many Asian traditional dishes. Due to biosecurity restrictions, I am not allowed to send rice plants to some parts of NSW.
