Cichorium intybus ssp. intybus - Greek edible greens - Hardy perennial vegetable and salad green. A type of wild chicory found in Greece. Mostly harvested wild in spring and eaten. Especially nice boiled and served with lemon juice and olive oil. Radikia is a traditional Greek food. A good food plant with medicinal value. The younger leaves are more tender and less bitter. A good repeat harvest plant. Used since ancient times in traditional Greek medicine. Also an excellent forage crop for farm animals, including poultry. It is both medicinal and highly digestible for animals.
