Punica granatum - Deciduous, perennial fruit tree. 5 metres height by 6 metres width. Suitable for most well drained soil types. The whole plant is used medicinally, and has been for thousands of years. The fruit and flowers can be used to produce a red dye. The pomegranate has a long history of cultivation in India and throughout the Mediterranean. A very long lived tree. Produces bright red flowers that are very ornamental in the garden.
