Achyranthes bidentata - A perennial herb, used in the traditional medicines of China, Nepal and India. Extensively cultivated in China for medicinal and culinary purposes. Ox-Knee has a wide range of uses medicinally, both internally and externally. The seeds and the leaves are also edible. With the seeds being cooked and consumed and the leaves cooked and used as you would spinach. Prefers to be grown in shade, in a rich well composted a well draining soil. Drought and frost sensitive.
