Plantago coronopus - Herbaceous annual to perennial.35 cms height, 30 cms width. Lance shaped, deeply divided leaves. Leaves reminiscent to antlers in shape. Grows well in coastal environments, and will grow in saline soil. Grown as a leaf vegetable, young leaves eaten raw or cooked. A high yielding plant, that can be used as a repeat harvest vegetable.  Frost hardy. A good winter crop vegetable. Flowers also edible. A medicinal herb. Grows well in cool , rainy weather. Requires a well drained soil. Flowers in the spring and summer. Leaves can be fed to poultry.
