Mentha x gracilis - Hardy, herbaceous perennial. 30- 60cms height. Full sun to part shade. Lilac flowers in summer, attractive to bees and pollinating insects. Flowers edible and a rich nectar source for insects. As the name suggest, this plant has a ginger aroma. Prefers a well drained but moist soil. Leaves used to make a tea. Leaves can be eaten fresh or cooked. Regular pruning or using leaves throughout the growing season will help promote bushy, healthy new growth. Cut back to the ground in the winter when foliage begins to die back.
