Mentha arvensis - Hardy, herbaceous perennial. 30-60 cms height, 1 metre width. Full sun to part shade. Frost hardy. Will grow in most soils, provided they are kept moist. Culinary and medicinal mint. A tea can be made from the fresh or dried leaves. Very easy to grow herb. Flowers very attractive to bees and butterflies. Leaves are insect repelling. Rats also don’t like the smell of mint. A good companion plant for brassicas and tomatoes.
