Mentha arvensis ‘Banana’ - A pretty and hardy mint variety. Full sun to part shade, but best with afternoon shade in hot summers.. Lovely lilac flowers from Summer through Autumn. The flowers attract bees and beneficial pollinators to the garden. An excellent culinary mint, having both the scent and flavour of bananas. Making it a great addition to sweet dishes especially. The leaves also make a delicious tea and are a good flavouring for other drinks. Growth of the Banana Mint is not as aggressive as other mints. Will grow in most well drained, but moist soils. Frost hardy. A medicinal herb also.
