Cardamine pratensis 'Flore Pleno' - Herbaceous perennial. Part to full shade. 25-40 cms height, 30 cms width. A rare double flowered form of the Cardamine pratensis, bearing pale pink double flowers in spring and summer. The flowers attract butterflies to the garden. Best grown in moist humus rich soil, but will grow in most wet to moist soil types. Not frost tender. A good plant for a pond edge or in a bog garden. Leaves and young shoots can be eaten raw or cooked. They are rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C. They taste similar to watercress. The flowers and flower buds are also edible.
