Hibiscus cannabinum - A really fast growing annual Hibiscus. As soon as the weather starts to heat up the Kenaf takes off. Kenaf is one of the world’s oldest cultivated crops and has a wide variety of uses. It has edible leaves and seeds. Kenaf is also widely grown as a fibre crop. The world’s thinnest paper is made from Kenaf. The dried stalks are being used to make building materials instead of tree wood. I put a few plants at the back of the garden and they looked great. Also good as fast growing shade for other plants or animals.
