Talinum paniculatum - A pretty and useful perennial addition to the herb or edible garden. The stems and leaves are edible, raw or cooked. The root is cooked in dishes to impart flavour. Jewels of Opar also has a long history of use in traditional medicine. I have mine growing in part shade and they are very happy. Pretty pink flowers held out on long stems above foliage, followed by dark red berries.
