Lycopus europaeus - Hardy herbaceous perennial herb. Full sun to part shade. 80-100 cms height. Pink flowers. A marginal plant, that also grows in shallow water. If grown outside of water requires constant moisture. A medicinal herb. Will grow in most soil types. Root is edible, but mostly just consumed as a famine food when all else fails. A permanent black dye is made from gipsywort. Spreads via underground runners. An easy to grow plant for a bog garden or pond.
