Alpinia caerula - An Australian native perennial edible herb. Fragrant white flowers are followed by edible bright blue berries. The white pulp of the berries is edible but the seeds can not be eaten. Only eat ripe berries, when they are blue not green. New shoots and root tips also edible. Clump forming growth habit. Light frost tolerance. Looks great in pots. Likes a moist soil, with regular water, but well drained. Beautiful glossy green, tropical looking, foliage.
