Cynara cardunculus - An ancient perennial vegetable, a close relative of the globe artichoke. An excellent plant for the kitchen garden, also a very attractive plant for an ornamental garden. Cardoon also has medicinal uses. Large flower buds open into big beautiful blue purple flowers in the summer.
