Piper betle - Perennial herb. Prefers part shade. Heart shaped leaves. Requires a well drained, but constantly moist soil soil. Drought and frost tender. A vine that can grow up to 10 metres long and requires something to grow on for support. Betel pepper is used as both a culinary and medicinal herb. And has a long history of cultivation. May become winter dormant in cold winter areas, if it does don’t over water when dormant. Rare in cultivation outside of Asia.
