Clinopodium vulgare - Perennial ground cover herb. 40 cms height. Full sun to part shade. Leaves edible, used fresh or dried, raw or cooked. A herbal tea can also be made from the leaves. Frost hardy. Prefers a moist soil. Wild Basil is also a medicinal herb, used in traditional European medicine. Flowers provide a good nectar source for bees and butterflies. Brown and yellow dyes can be made from the leaves.
