Ocimum gratissimum - Perennial herb. 1.5 metres height, 1 metre width. Full sun to part shade. A culinary and medicinal basil. Frost tender. Grows perennially in areas with mild winters. In frost prone areas best grown in pots and moved to a warm sheltered spot in the colder months. Very aromatic leaves. Leaves can also be made into a medicinal tea. Best in a moist, fertile, well drained soil. Mulch well in hot weather. Remove flower heads, if seed not required, to promote more leaf growth.
