Platycodon grandiflorus - White Balloon Flower grows wild throughout Asia. It is widely wild harvested for culinary and medicinal purposes. The root is used as a perennial vegetable. As a food it is considered to be a tonic. Leaves and flowers are also consumed. The flowers are really, lovely, starting off in the characteristic balloon shape, then opening to a really pretty bright white.
