Thymus x citriodorus - Hardy mat forming perennial. 25 cms height, 45 cms width. Full sun. Foliage has a lovely lemon aroma. Lilac pink flowers in the spring and summer. Flowers attract bees and butterflies and are a good nectar source for them. Good culinary herb, harvest leaves as required throughout the growing season. Can be used fresh or dried. Leaves used to make a tea. Used medicinally. Requires a well drained soil, doesn’t like wet soils. Does well in a dry sunny position. A good companion plant to cabbages, onions and roses. Drought tolerant once established. Frost hardy.
