Myrtus communis - This shrub/tree has many uses in cooking. The fruits, flower buds, leaves and twigs are all used as flavourings and spices for many dishes. Myrtle also has a long recorded tradition of various medicinal uses. Grows to about 5 metres high. A very ornamental tree also, especially when in flower.
