Ruta graveolens - Hardy, evergreen perennial. 50cms height, 50cms width. Full sun to part shade, and prefers to have some shade.  Beautiful blue green foliage. Yellow flowers in the summer and autumn. Whole plant is aromatic. Tolerates hot, dry conditions. Does well in poor, dry soils. Will grow in most soil types, and prefers well drained soil. Upright, erect growth habit. Not frost tender. Good companion plant to roses and raspberries. A red dye is obtained from the plant. Prune in spring to maintain bushy growth and shape. Can be pruned into a round shape. Established plants are drought tolerant.
